Ana and Shawn are two of the most down-to-earth people I have ever met.

They’re so relaxed and easy-going, and I think that shows through their love for nature.

When choosing a location for their engagement shoot, they decided on a place that I had no prior experience with - Blackbird State Forest. They told me they loved hiking there and that the trees were beautiful, and wow were they right. When I first got to the shooting location, I immediately noticed how tall and powerful all of the trees were. And best of all, there was little to no small shrubs on the forest floor, allowing us to get up close and personal with all of the trees!

A upwards-facing shot to show off how tall these trees really are.

It was a super cold day in January, but Ana and Shawn braved the weather and brought multiple outfit changes to make the most out of their session. PSA: I don’t have any limits on outfit changes when you book a session with me ;)

We walked around, finding spots where the sunlight was peaking through the trees, and got ourselves some golden shots.

The way that Ana and Shawn look at each other, it’s clear to see that they’re in love. I’m honored to be a part of their journey, and excited to see where they’re headed together!
