On one of the hottest days of the year...

Ashleigh and Nathan set out for their engagement session at Winterthur Gardens. I've taken photos of these two for years, and they've supported my photography journey from the beginning. I was also fortunate enough to be there for their actual engagement, where I secretly took photos from behind a bush.

Winterthur offers a variety of stunning backdrops that fit any couple’s style. From the beautifully manicured gardens to the wooded paths and open meadows to the breathtaking architecture, there are endless options to capture different looks and moods in your photos. During our session, we explored several different areas of the estate, each one providing a unique setting. A must-have shot from Ashleigh was a photo of her engagement ring on a sunflower, which we happened to find at the greenhouses.

We then meandered our way through the wooded paths towards the museum, stopping along the way to take a few photos in the trees. Once we made it to the museum, the opportunities provided to us were endless. Ashleigh and Nathan got to live out a fantasy life in a tower-like structure, and look powerful on the steps to the museum. The stone walls gave off an amazing aesthetic that enhanced the photos as well.

No matter the season, the gardens provide a stunning and ever-changing landscape. Spring and summer bring vibrant blooms, while fall colors add warmth and depth to any photo.
